I have installed linux mint in my laptop with the thought in mind that I will never use windows again. So far so good, till I had to use adobe programs (reader, flash, photoshop etc). These do not work with wine and using them in virtualbox has been a living nightmare (due to the graphical aspect of the work process).
I want to install windows and dual boot, but I have lots of files and cannot backup (for now). So I was wondering if the files in linux will be restored / accessed again after I restore grub.
I suppose yes, but have to make sure.

Solution
Yes just shrink your mint partition and install windows to the empty partition then reinstall GRUB.

Really though those are terrible reasons to go through the trouble of installing windows. There are tons of PDF readers for Linux and Flash works just fine with Chrome and on firefox, though a bit more tricky with firefox. For most photoshop things you can just use GIMP.
