The overclocking potential is the big deal difference, it has more power phases it likely has a hand picked GPU (citation needed) it has a better PCB for overclocking and uses higher quality memory chips. All in all an extremely poor way to spend 200 dollars unless you are trying to set overclocking records, if that is the case you would want a 980 ti anyway.

Thank you for clearing this to me! and last question why is the "normal"classified GTX cheaper than the FTW? because from what i know Classified has more power than the FTW so why should it be cheaper? is it demand?

well I do know with evga the number 3 is a newer revision over 2 . 1 states a reference card 2 is first release aftermarket 3 is a revised card over 2 [beter vrm's? better cooler? ect...] they don't show or tell the changes but you could go to there forums and post a question on that to see what they say ???

but I understand that a big price difference between them with out knowing whats changed ??

something funny here as well

2988 learn more page

http://www.evga.com/articles/00872/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-980-970/#2988

the 3988 learn more page
http://www.evga.com/articles/00872/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-980-970/

but then you notice the 3988 is not listed in the card list ??

I will assume the 2988 card is being phased out for the newer 3988 card and the site has not got updated ???

seems like evga has had a lot of issues lately

I think evga got too many irons in there fire and its starting to show like the 980 ti's they were not able to keep any in stock but then they release another 1 or 2 new cards that's never in stock as well and just releas a few at a time to stores as they go or you got to get on a waiting list ?? whats going on there ?? somthings up..
