Hello, i just wanted to ask what i should upgrade first my Cpu or Gpu. My current PC specs are:
Cpu: Intel Pentium D 915
Gpu: Nvidia Geforce 8500 Gt
Ram: 2GB DDR2-667
Psu: 380W
I was planning to upgrade to:
Choice 1:
Cpu: Intel Pentium G3258
Mobo: Asus H81M-C/CSM Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-1600
Or
Choice 2:
Gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB FTW ACX Video Card
I just dont know what would bottleneck more getting a better cpu or a better gpu. Please help

Solution
Neither your CPU nor your GPU will handle current games nicely. You may have better performance just using the integrated GPU in a new intel CPU than you would get with your old GPU. Save some money and only get 4GB of RAM. Use what you save to either get a new GPU now or get a CPU with better integrated graphics to hold you over until you can afford a new GPU.

You may also want to look into getting an APU for your budget.

im just looking to run games for my kid like minecraft and such, which one would be better for the time being, he wont be playing high demanding games until a few more years.

Then get the best CPU you can afford (maybe an APU) and use its integrated graphics. You won't get good performance, but most games will be playable.

Would he get the same fps or lower fps if he were to use the g3258 and the geforce 8500gt compared to only using the g3258 with integrated graphics?

Because right now with the D 915 and the 8500 gt he gets around 40 fps with maxed settings but goes down to 10-20 fps when in pvp
