I bought a TP Link Powerline today, and it works fine, except the speeds are atrocious. The odd thing is, the connection from one of the adapters to the router is only 10mbps, while the connection from the other adapter to my PC is 100mbps. I thought at first, that maybe it was one of the adapters that was the culprit, but when I switched the adapters around, the one that was previously 100mbps on my PC became 10mbps on my router. So now, I'm thinking it's the routers fault. But the same router is connected to another pc, and that displays 100mbps as the connection speed. Finally, I thought it was an ethernet wire, but I used the same one connected to my PC for this powerline, but it was still 10mbps. I really am not sure what the problem is, and would really like some help.

Solution
Could be that there is more interface or poor wiring going to the outlet that gets 10. Try a different plug, see if the speed stays at 10 in other rooms or not.
