I just installed a new Intel Wireless-AC 7260 card an a Sony VAIO SVT151 laptop running Windows 10 64 bit. The laptop recognizes it in device manager but it does not show up in my connections and is not able to be used.
In device manager it shows as 'functioning properly' with driver version 17.15.0.5... I've tried to update the driver with intels packages (newest driver is 18 something) and they completely install but the driver never shows the updates version number or date in device manager.

Ideas???

Is there anyway of manually updating to the newest driver by browsing to the new driver (haven't been able to find a standalone driver just intels install exe files).

It`s a new bit of hardware.
Remember you have to create a new network connection.
So it will show in the networking hardware list.

Control panel.
Network and internet.
Network and sharing center.

Create a new network connection.
Oh of course.! how did I forget that.

Or are you saying the adapter is not enabled.

Have you found any solution? I have exactly the same problem except I am using the AC 7260 in a desktop PC via an adaptor http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4739#ov

The card is installed, shows up in device manager, is enabled and working as network device but cannot detect any wireless networks. I noticed also that the intel proset wireless connection assistant in the taskbar does NOT detect the card despite what windows is telling me.
