Hello,
If I take my wifes hdd, and place it in a pc, with new m/b and new chip but same socket(if it matters),
will the hdd work,, or do I have to reinstall everything all over again??
the reason for this is that, my poor wife has an old system at work, and she has win7 32bit, and I want to take her hdd and install it in a system with win7 64bit,,and lots more ram.
she only has 1gb ram now.......pffffff:pfff:

Solution
You need to re-install.

Doing this almost always this results in BSOD and failure to boot. Even if you are one of the very "lucky" ones that does get the swap to work, there is almost always something not quite right after that.

Do a fresh install and avoid all the possible problems.
