They're both "general use" drives, neither optimized for RAID or Performance. Both are 7200rpm, and both are fairly reputable brands.

I have one of each in my rig, and neither have presented any issues.

Given their pretty much comparable, yet you can get 50% more storage out of the Seagate, I'd suggest you go for that one.

WD 5000AAKS SATA2 7200rpm 16MB Cache 500 MB Capacity 3 years warranty - ETA of failure 2+ years.

I have 5xWD5000 in a raid thats on 24/7 and not problem 3 years on.
