I'm building a rig to play a game in bluestacks in more than 15+ virtual machine using VMware workstation, my problem is that I'm not sure what kind of cpu to get.
here is the specs of my rigs:
power supply: corsair tx750
gpu: gigabyte gtx 570 soc
ssd: 500gb Samsung evo + Kingston 120gb
hdd: 1tb western digital
cpu: intel i7 2700k overclocked at 3.5ghz
motherboard:asus p8z77vlx
ram: 2 x 8 gb ballistic ddr3 + 2 x 4gb Kingston ddr3
With this rig I can load more than 10 vms but as soon as i'm loading bluestacks, each monitor gets pretty laggy, even with 3 vm. The things is that my cpu and ram are not even close to be at full capacity. I started to do some research and found out that maybe the problem was reletaded with my cpu being too weak (not enough core/thread, cache or memory bandwidth). For this reason I'm buying new hardware to make this work. Some parts were already bought: corsair 780t case and a corsair h100i water cool system. I'm planning to buy 32gb ddr4 21333mhz and an asus x99-a motherboard. For the cpu I'm thinking about an intel xeon e5 2670 v3 ,would it be a good candidate for my project? Should i consider a 6-8 core cpu with higher ghz per core or more core/threads and less bandwidth?
