Got a MSI Gaming 4G GTX 970 today. NFSMW 2012 was the first game I played. There is a lot of screen tearing in that games which wasn't there when I was running it using the Intel HD 4600. Processor is i7-4790k.

EDIT- Forgot to add. The games runs at 60 FPS as it is Vsync enabled and there is no option to disable it.

are you playing on a monitor or over hdmi to a TV? Your TV may have a different refresh rate than 60Hz which could cause tearing if you are on a TV. If it has a gaming mode try that too.

If you are on a monitor please give the model.

Just out of curiosity, what resolution are you gaming at? I would think that vsync would prevent this problem and give you other problems such as input lag. Regardless, can you increase the graphics settings to increase the demand on the card, so that it doesn't exceed 60 FPS.

I am actually playing on my 6 yrs old monitor (connected via DVI-I port) from my old build as I am yet to buy a new monitor, LG L177WSB. I tried 60 Hz and 75 Hz. Both are giving heavy screen tearing.

Playing on a monitor from my old build and reso is 1440x900. Game is running on ultra settings. Game is already limiting the FPS to 60 and there is no option in settings or in the config file to disable this 60 FPS lock.

Thanks. Setting Vsync to Adaptive removes the screen tearing, but it will bring down all the games to 60 FPS. But that's not an issue.

But is the difference between normal Vsync and Adaptive?

Thanks. Just checked that out. Atleast it will keep the temps of the GPU down.
