The Z97-A requires RAM overclocking for anything above a speed of 1600. When I did the first boot of my build the BIOS showed my RAM (it's 1866) speed at 1333 MHz. The last time I built a system was 25 years ago and all the options available today aren't something I'm familiar with so I chose the one-click auto-optimization the Z97-A offers. That also overclocked my CPU (4.0 GHz) which at this moment is running at 4.486 GHz and changing as I perform various tasks. Is this potentially bad (in terms of operating life)? Should I look to lock it in at 4.0GHz? The CPU temp runs around 31C. BTW, the RAM also has variable frequency, currently hovering around 1900 MHz.
