I just put in a new CPU and cooler without doing anything to the BIOS prior, and now my PC doesn't make a beep sound, it turns on, fires up all fans for about ten seconds, then reboots. I tried to take out the CMOS battery and put it back in, but it still didn't work.

New CPU, now PC won't boot up

what cpu are you coming from what is the new cpu and whats the mobo also you might need to put the old cpu back in and update the bios
Alright so I updated the BIOS, and now the new CPU is working. But now I have no sound even when my headset is plugged in. When I hover over the sound icon, it says that "no speakers or headphones are plugged in." I did look to see in the BIOS if onboard audio was on.
