PC freezing while rendering games

So, I built a PC for gaming about a week ago, been having problems at various stages of installing windows, but got it installed. I purchased everything at Micro Center so I was able to take the whole rig to the store and got some help. Turns out the CPU and Mobo were both faulty, this fixed most of the freezing. By that I mean anywhere from 5 seconds to 45 mins of booting to the desktop, I would have to hold the power button and reboot. Replaced the CPU, Mobo, made sure my RAM was okay. Apparently they tested everything and couldn't find any more faulty components, yet now instead of freezing moments after boot, I will be running a game through Steam, and it locks up seemingly at random. From triple A titles, (GTAV) to small indie games, (TerraTech), there seems to be no rhyme or reason. TerraTech, a very simple game, freezes within 15 mins, yet GTAV has run for almost an hour with no problems. I haven't run all the games I've played for a specified amount, and I can if needed, but I doubt every single game can cause issues like this. Also tried stress-testing my cpu with no issues. The only parts I can think that would be an issue now are the PSU or GPU. I had one power supply burn up on me, but I'm certain nothing was damaged ( I.E. no burn marks/smells afterwards) as I also heard a very loud click after I began to smell something.

Sorry this is so long winded, just trying to be as specific as I can.
I'm also providing a link to my build:

TL DR Custom build is freezing, CPU and Mobo have been replaced and tested, running Win 8 Pro.

Thanks for any info/advice you can provide, sorry if I've made any mistakes, first time posting to any forum.

Solution
before you reinstalled windows you format HDD to have clear installation ?
If not use this:
Use this http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
And follow instruction :
Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
Reboot your PC in Safe Mode.
Run Driver Sweeper and select what to clean.
Analyse lists all the entries possible to remove, cleaning removes the entries selected.
Reboot to normal mode.
Install fresh drivers.

Is also chance that old PSU damage GPU, try older drivers for GPU.
You have poor quality PSU, Corsair CX series are not for gaming rigs they barely good for office PC. * Main reason they blow up after year of use becasue low quality capacitors.
Look at this PSU tier list CX is at tier 4 lower is only junk quality tier 5

This is will be enough for this build from Tier 1 Power Supply: XFX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($71.10 @ SuperBiiz)

I have one question your PSU have clear air intake path ?
Maybe something blocking air circulation and PSU overheating, try make some space between floor and case bottom to make more room for air.

About GPU try test it on this http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

To answer the question, yes, I have made sure to provide a good air intake for my power supply. I believe I'll try a different power supply since all sources indeed say to stay clear from corsair. I think I'll wait on the GPU test, and use it if I keep having problems after using the PSU I should've chosen in the first place. Lack of research on my part.
I will post within the next week if the new PSU has fixed my problem or not. Thanks.

Just installed the new PSU and it's running fine. But now the disk usage is always at 100-80%. Which was not happening before now. Tried a fix and went to reboot and am now stuck at a screen saying Scanning and repairing drive ( C : ) 27% complete. Not sure what to do at this point seeing as I apparently have a whole new host of problems, but my rig no longer freezes entirely, just runs slowly and games crash, so the problem seems to be the disk usage or maybe something to do with memory, not the new PSU.

Disk tested as healthy, and I believe I've found a fix either way. Seems it's a problem found in win 8 sometimes.
I actually started getting freezes and random restarts back to back, so I reinstalled windows, went to test the hdd and install my GPU drivers, and it froze. Barely installed drivers and was on the desktop and it locked up. This was with the new PSU, and I have stress tested the CPU with no issues, at this point I truly have no idea what to do. Not even sure if I should be posting to this thread anymore given that I have so many weird issues.
