I personally have a FX-6300 Black Series and it is a very good CPU . It can handle a lot overclocking ( i could take it up to 4.7 GHz from its 35. GHz base core clock ) and with a good cooler ( i use Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO which costs ~ 30$ ) it can stay in low temperature ( in base cpu clock i got a max temp up to 55C ).
Also is cheaper .
A better question would be 6300 or 8350
Still Both are VERY VERY good CPUs so you can't go wrong with any of them
Id love to try an 8350 but as it is im getting 35% off on FX 6300 or FX6350 and its a one time thing so i gotta choose carefully. Now the 6350 works at 3.9 Ghz. As a starting point for OC isnt that better? Whats the ceiling for OC on these models?
It may be strange but FX 6300 is more overclockable
Also 6300 need less power from your PSU .
What are you going to use your PC for ? If gaming then it is more then enough for other 3 years at least
( after that you will just have to overclock it
)
Well right now im just building different rigs and testing them against other for the fun of it. I have always had Intel CPU so im basically just exploring AMD CPUS. I dont intend to use it for games and such, I merely want to run benchmarks, overclock and see what happens.
Then you will find it yourself which is better since you build rigs often
Also Intel is overpriced and over rated
( I am not an AMD fanboy )
Haha well thats just my problem as i dont have a big enought budget to test both CPUs. Indeed intel is way more expensive than AMD, just to clarify im not an intel fanboy either, I was just lucky enough to get rebates and disccounts that made intel more appealing in the past.
Anyways that settles it i guess, the phenom is turning out pretty good so far so ill go with the 6300 for its OC capabilities.
