I find myself with two components which have USB 2.0 9-pin headers on them. Unfortunately, my mother board only has a single USB 3.0 19-pin header which is currently in use. The easy solution here is to purchase a NZXT IU01 USB Expansion. This would give me my extra 9-pin connections. However, I am at a loss choosing exactly how to connect the expansion to my motherboard. I can see two solutions, each with a different problem:

1. I attach the NZXT IU01 to a PCI-E USB 2.0 Adapter with an internal 9-pin header. This would be the most straightforward solution. However, I am having difficulty finding a trustworthy card now that 2.0 has become so deprecated. Compatibility with Windows 10 might be an issue, and I am uneasy about cheap cards frying components. If anyone could recommend one of these cards to me, I would appreciate it.

2. I attach the NZXT IU01 to a 9-Pin to 19-Pin Adapter Cable, then attach that to a PCI-E USB 3.0 Adapter with an internal 19-pin header. The benefit of the 3.0 adapter is the ready availability of model options unlike a 2.0. My primary concern for this solution is stability. I would essentially be jury-rigging a jury-rigging. Once again, I am most unsure about the safety of my components. If anyone has done a setup like this, I would very much like to know how successful you were.

I'm sure there are other solutions out there, and if I'm missing something much easier, I'd love to hear it. Thanks for looking.
