Hi everyone,
I just got a new cable modem from my ISP and it's a Cisco EPC3928S. I'm trying to force my laptop to connect to it using WPA2 AES security so it would connect as 801.11n and not g so I can get full internet speed on my laptop.
The settings on the modem are WPA2 AES+TKIP so that other non N devices can connect as well. So I'm connecting on my laptop to TKIP normally but when I go to the connection settings and change the security to AES it disconnects and refuses to connect to the network. The same happens if I change the modems settings to AES only.
The modem works just fine since I can connect with my phone with no issues.
I have a Windows 8.1 laptop and the network adapter is Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn
Can someone help?
