How to connect wi-fi network and wired network? (To allow main PC to see home theater PC on wi-fi network)

Hi All!

I have a MacBook that I use as a home theater PC. It is on my wireless network. My main PC is wired to the router through a power line adapter.

The main PC and MacBook can't see each other. How can I connect them so I can share files without running them through a flash drive back and fourth?

Is my understanding correct that they are on different networks, which is why they can't see each other? How to I make the wi-fi network and the wired network be viewed as the same network? Is there another solution?

Thanks in advance?

In a home network, devices can "see" each other IF they are on the same subnet. A typical home network will have 1 subnet. WIFI and ethernet co-exist in the same subnet fine. If you have 2 subnets explain yourself why.

I don't believe my PC can see my Macbook either but I can certainly "connect to it." (without "seeing" it. People typically say SEE when they mean the target device doesn't appear on Windows' Explorer) From my Mac, I talk to my PCs via samba shares, smb:\\host\sharedresource. I haven't tried the other way around but am sure there is a way.

Try Googling "Windows OSX shares."

I tired setting up a home group, but it doesn't "see" the MacBook which on the wi-fi network. It shoes my pc, my roomates PC, and the router as the only devices on the network.
