I have a 2 TB WD Black H/D that I have disk cloned my 320GB C drive containing Vista and other softwares. I've used the WD Acronis True Image and it worked....but only provided a 320GB partition. I connected the drive to my Win 7 laptop as an external drive and used the Win 7 partition control feature in "Administrative Tools" to extend the 320 GB partition. It seemed to work. But still My Computer only sees the 320 GB partition.

Even tried Linux to clone that 320 GB drive onto the WD Black drive. The 320 GB volume appears under Vista but still cannot get the remaining disk space added to the 320 GB partition.

Hi there liberal2,

Sorry for that. :(

So you can't extend the partition when the drive is attached as a primary one in your desktop right? Can you see the unallocated space? Do you get some kind of an error? What is the partition style?(GPT,MBR)
There are some third party partition management tools that you can try using. There are quite a lot of threads on that in the forum.

Let me know how this goes,
