should I switch from air cool to water cool if I'm not overclocking?

I know it looks nice too, so that's another reason to go with it. I recently upgraded from a NZXT case to a NZXT H440 case, I went ahead and took a look at what it looks like with an heat sink and I was surprised at how tacky it looks. But I have a 980 TI and a i5 4460, not doing anything with editing .

Solution
Water cooling will be more efficient and quieter but it will be more difficult to maintain than air cooling. However there's no need for water cooling unless you're going to overclock a lot.
You can probably get around with air cooling and save more money.

from a performance standpoint, there are a lot of inexpensive air coolers out there that will beat the cheaper water coolers. If you are not overclocking, then the stock air cooler that came with your CPU is enough. if you are overheating, then there is some other issue, such as bad airflow through your case causing the overheating. as the watercooler will relocate the radiator to outside the case, that might be a reason to try watercooling, but it is an expensive test. YMMV.

I'd say no. If you plan on overclocking the hell out of your cpu gpu then water is where it's at. Air is fine for stock.

Water cooling can be done relatively cheap but it gets expensive if you start buying the Gucci looking blocks etc.
When I was researching water cooling before I did mine. I saw a guy using garden hose and a car radiator to do it.
