Disk drive won't play cd's

I recently purchased a cd, that i wanted to listen on my computer. However, the cd just won't play. The disk drive recognizes that the disk is there, but it says it has 0 bytes free of 0 bytes, all the songs are only 1 KB in size.
If I try to open it, the windows media player starts up, but it won't play any music. This is not just this cd, as every cd that i have tried won't work (which is weird because it has worked before)
I've tried messing around with regedit, uninstalling and reinstalling windows media player, trying to listen to it through VLC, and basically any other trick that I've found while browsing.
Does anyone have other solutions? Any help is appreciated!

PS. I'm not sure if this is in the right category..

I'm assuming you mean the disk drive model?
It's an Asus drw-24b5st
It should work fine, as other cd's have worked fine with this disk drive.

Sadly I don't currently have access to other computers with disk drives, so I can't test that out.
What kind of a firmware update are you talking about?

(I'm really sorry if i misunderstand things, I'm surprisingly bad with computer stuff :p)

''It should work fine, as other cd's have worked fine with this disk drive. ''

where not talking about others ,are we ??? as in outhers you mean there the same brand, batch , format and all exactly the same as the issue disk ???

are you sure the issue disk was burned correctly ?? you can get aftermarket media that can be non compatible with some drives

I did not see any firmware updates offered at asus for that drive

I wasn't supposed to make this the best solution, but i miss clicked :p.
Its a brand new album i bought from an official store, so it should be good quality.

And as a side note, my pc does recognize the disk drive and it is working properly. I have also tried uninstalling the disk drive and downloading the newest drivers for my GPU. Haven't helped yet.

God damn it made that the best answer again :p. I'm just so used to the reply button being there.
The album is by a really big band though, so it would be weird for it to not work on all disk drives. maybe my disk drive is just busted?

The problem is, none of my cd's work, so the problem cant be in this particular album.

I'll try to contact a friend and try out their disk drive when its possible, but I'm afraid its not possible right now.
(also can someone take off the solution from Blackbirds reply?)

So i managed to partially solve the problem with these links.
I still can't play them normally, but after i converted them to mp3's through Itunes, i can play them trough that. They're still CDFS files normally, though.
