really need help please! (first build)

ok so it's my first ever pc build and everything seemed to boot up properly. My 2 case fans and my CPU fan were spinning which seems to be fine.

I have a few questions.

1. My EVGA GTX 970 fans don't spin on bootup, is this normal unitl it experience greater temps?

2. I'm trying to connect my motherboard to my monitor and it says no cable connected?

Oh ok thanks! That's stupid, so you can't use your motherboard ports on first boot up but you need to use the GPU?

I will give it a try, the only problem now is my GPU only takes DVI-D and DVI-I which I don't have :|

If you have a gpu this is correct. And you will need dvi cables.
