Hi there! Basically I'm not new to computers but this will be my first time ever building my own one. I've picked out a few choice parts but I have no idea if they will work/fit together so if you could please help me with this that'd be awsome. Also, if these would work together, which motherboard should I get? As i'm totally clueless on motherboards. The computer must be efficient for both high-end gaming & recording music (I will be getting the full Pro-Tools setup once I can afford it) I've listed the parts below.

CPU: Inter Core i5-4690K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR 1600MHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
Int. Harddrive: Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM Sata 6Gb/s Internal Bare Drive

Thanks in advance!

Ah fantastic :) Budget isn't totally massive but i'll stretch it if i have to. Ain't giving a limit to building it, as long as it gets built. Current machine is knackered.

Yeah will be. To be honest with the RAM is where i wasn't sure if it'd be better just building 2 machines as i'm hoping to get a dual system going in the sense i'll be gaming & editing through DAW at the same time & with some of my games using Steam the RAM requirements can be pretty high. TSC on its own needs 6Gb for best running.

Okay no problem. Hmm lets say £500 preferably for now? Can stretch a lot higher though. I do like the best but i also like the best for price too :D

I did this before I saw your budget.

That's a darn good build without spending to much. You can cut some corners if you don't need the DVD drive, CPU cooler. You can also save some more if you already have the HDD, SDD, and the Operating system.

I prefer using externals. Already have 2 1TB Seagates.

I removed the HDD and DVD drive. total cost 778 euros using your prefered CPU, GPU and RAM.
