A week ago my old XFX TS 550w supply died, upgraded and got the XFX TS 750w. JUST got it an hour ago after a week with no pc, plugged everything in... hit the power button... and sparks appeared near my Graphics card/Optical drive/MB (Basically upper mid section, 3 sparks to be exact).

Is this just a thing new PSUs do to your comp after an upgrade in watts? Like "BOOM SPARKS, thats right, i am 200 watts more powerful than your old PSU"

Anyway i instantly shut it off and unplugged it. Should i try starting it again? or am i screwed and must wait another week for a replacement PSU...

Hey Loyalties, both of your PSU's should be under warranty, but before using any replacements, i would try and check the plug/cable and surge protector... something sounds like its causing a catastrophe, it could be the PSU, but i would definately try swapping some components before testing the new one.

let me know if you have any questions.

Update. Took the risk and started up my pc again. Works perfectly fine now... Could i have just had something not plugged in well? Should things be fine and dandy?

Could have been. but Antoine Lavoisier would argue it is forever changed. Sparks = mass lost. Keep us posted,
