Hello forum!

Got my z170 motherboard and DDR4 RAM, now to choose the CPU.

I have been looking at benchmarks and honestly it's still unclear which I should go for

Like the title says I mainly play games ranging from League/CS:GO to Witcher 3, and I do stream from time to time with OBS at 720p60FPS with skype open.

I currently have a GTX 980 if that needs to be stated. Which CPU should I go for in my situation? Does the Hyperthreading really improve on those?

Solution
The Hyperthreading will really help for streaming, but won't improve performance much if you're just playing games. I guess it comes down to whether you do enough streaming to justify spending the extra $100 or so for the i7. If you don't stream often and can put the $100 towards something else, then the i5 would be fine. If you stream a lot or want to get into streaming seriously, then it might be worthwhile dropping the $100 for the i7.

Yeah I guess that makes sense, I mean if it picks up steam for whatever reason, I could better prepare myself with the hyperthreading. Thank you for putting that into perspective!
