I know there are a lot of people asking this same question but I feel that it might be different based on specs.

I'm gonna be transforming an "older" desktop that I don't use anymore due to my laptop being better than it. It has an AMD A4-3420 CPU w/ integrated graphics, 6GB DDR3-1600 RAM, 300W PSU, some cheap motherboard, a 1TB 7200 RPM HDD, and Win 8.1.

Ok so, this has been a project I've been saving for a while now and here is a list of parts that I want to put in it: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/X6mpwP

My question is, is there a way I can keep the OS from that and transfer over to this upgraded parts. Regardless if I can use it or not I'm doing a clean wipe on the HDD, I have a disc for Windows 10 that I made when I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10. However, I haven't yet upgraded that desktop to windows 10 in hopes of being able to re-use the product key in the upgrade process. Can anyone help me with this? I'd rather not spend another ~$90 :/ Thanks!

It's got nothing to do with the specs. If you bought the machine with that license on it, or if you bought an OEM license for Windows 7 or earlier, the license can't be transferred.
