Hi Everyone,

Been stalking you guys for years and have found this site very helpful. lol However, never had the opportunity to join before now... I'm sorry our introduction is of this nature, but I really need your help:

Error messages in Device Manager indicate I needed to download, among other things, the Intel USB Controller driver. Went to Intel's site and couldn't find one for Intel 5, so I came here and was directed to the asrock* site... Downloaded the file, but got the same error message: this device doesn't meet minimum requirements for software... For the life of me I have no idea what are the minimum requirements, so how can i solve this problem I have at least 5 exclamation points in my Device Manager... Two of them I am ignoring because they are "unknown device" :) Fyi... I am using a brand *new* factory refurbished Intel 5 processor HP EliteBook.

Thanks in advance for all helpful solutions... :)

J.S.

Downloaded 64-bit for 64-bit OS... As stated, laptop is factory refurbished HP EliteBook. I am thinking that is the reason none of the downloads will install... smh

Not sure how to copy and paste screen here, otherwise I would show a screenshot so you can see the details... Not much more to tell than what I wrote...
Windows 7 Professional with Serice Pack 1
Intel Core i5-2520M CPU @2.50GHz

Anyway, I discovered Intel has a Driver Update Utility that checks for missing drivers and install them, so I am presently using that tool to troubleshoot. Will let you know if that solves the problem... :)

Depends which drivers have the exclamation marks.... Touchpad driver, ethernet/wifi drivers, Intel HD video drivers, Intel chipset drivers, and possibly the Intel rapid storage driver is required for basic but full functionality.

Base system device, USB Controller, and Unknown device. Those are the ones with exclamation points.

www.driveridentifier.com

Download, install, run. It will then take you to a webpage which will have links to up to date drivers for all your hardware. Hopefully this will sort it out for you.
