I just got a new beast of a laptop and it doesn't seam to perform the greatest at stock settings. I can play madmax and also metalgearsolid phantom pain maxed out with temps in the mid 70s.
However at times when playing guild wars2 I have seen temps jump to 86 and hover around low 80s at times in games. It averages closer to 75 but the jumps up to 86 and it getting to the low 80s worries me.
Is this something I should be concerned about or is it not that big of a deal because it's not a sustained temperature. I'd say it averages about 78 with jumps up to low 80s on occasion and random spikes went up to 86 at the highest.
I've seen people say turn down the setting in windows and it will lower clock speeds slightly and temps. For some reason the Intel utility over locker wasn't included so I can't easily underclock it either.
Is this normal with this cpu to spike up like that or is this going to be a bigger problem it's only during mmos that I see these spikes and higher temps.
I used hwinfo to get this info as well as msi afterburner. I'm considering trying real temp as I've read that it's very accurate.
Kinda at a loss hear appreciate any info.
