with cpu they have different numbers of pins sometimes from one generation of cpu to the next ie ivry bridge has 1155 newer haswell have 1150 and skylake have 1151. also intel and amd cpu mb use different chipset and slots. also with cpu you have to watch out for the voltage the cpus run at one could run at 35w and another could be 50w and could burn out your laptop.
You can't swap between Intel and AMD - you'll need a whole new laptop.

On top of that, you can't swap within the Intel family because the CPU is soldered to the motherboard.

Basically, if you want more performance from the CPU you have to buy a new laptop with a better CPU.
