Hi there. I've been wanting to upgrade my PC lately. Currently it does very well for being a very modest budget PC but I want to make her great. So I ask you fine people, with my current build, what should I upgrade first - My CPU & Motherboard or my GPU.

My current build
CPU - AMD Athlon X4 760k
GPU - Geforce GTX 750 ti Superclock
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-F2A88X

My Upgraded build
CPU - FX 8350
GPU - Geforce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+
Mobo - ASUS M5A97 R2.0

I just don't want to go with say the GPU and bottleneck it to what was the point until I get the new CPU is all. Thanks for any advice :)

It depends on the time of games you will be playing. If you will be playing games like the new metal gear solid game or other games that demand a lot of graphics then you should definitely upgrade your GPU because your cpu is pretty decent. If however you will be playing games from 2012 and before then you might be better off upgrading your cpu and mobo

I am indeed building it up to play newer games and upcoming ones. Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid 5, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battelfront being the main big ones for now (Skyrim Too as always)
So I'll definitely see a rise in performance and not bottleneck it too badly if I go for the GPU first?
