Massive FPS Drops in games GTX 980 SLI

So this is getting really really annoying. In any game I play randomly I will drop from 200+ fps to 1-3 fps for either 2 seconds or longer sometimes. It makes anything online like League of Legends rough because you need to be making twitch decisions and its hard if I am getting 2 fps. It seems to happen most with SLI mode enabled. I also have a G-Sync 1440P 144hz monitor. League of legends will smooth out sometimes and I can have a good game and not deal with while other times right when I load in I am getting 1 fps and have to restart my computer to fix it. I am on windows 10, i7 4770k 16 gig of ram as well. 1000W PSU

Also I have two monitors, the 1440P 144hz Gsync one is my main and another one mounted vertically is a 120hz 1080P monitor. To recreate this almost 75% of the time I leave say google chrome web page open on either monitor then load the game up and it does it a lot. If I minimize said window its not as frequent.

Have you turned on some power saver thing in the BIOS or in Windows?

I would download HWinfo and monitor my GPU temps and CPU temps as well.

How much system RAM do you have?

I have Chrome open with a dozen tabs or more almost always. I have no issues with it.

Will this not happen if you avoid leaving Chrome open? If so, try going into Chrome's advanced settings and disabling hardware acceleration, see if it still gives you that problem when leaving it open.

I have 16 gigs of ram, didn't turn anything on no. I noticed now if I disable g-sync I don't have this issue in LoL so far at least so I dunno.

Oh that is interesting. I wonder what G-Sync is doing... I do not own any G-Sync capable hardware, so I cannot test that.
