Hi guys, I am new here and also in pc (a first time/beginner) so please forgive me for saying silly things.I need help from you guys.

So i wanted to build a gaming rig, I choose the Cooler Master V8 GTS for my build. But i hear people saying that the V8 GTS will block graphcis card from placing it at the first PCIe slot(long). And there are no compatibility list for this.Below are the specs.

Cpu:intel core i7 4790k

motherboard:asus maximus vii hero

cpu cooler: cooler master v8 gts

ram: corsair vengeance pro 16 GB(2x8GB) DDR3 1866 mhz

graphics card: MSI gtx 980ti gaming 6g

case: CM Storm Trooper

So can my msi gtx98ti gaming fit in the first PCIe slot (long not the first short ones) in the asus maximus vii hero with V8 GTS installed? And of course placing it in the first slot will be the fastest right? I heard that the graphics card is a bit big.And will my corsair vengeance pro ram be too tall?

Now just some other questions:

1. Is the thermal paste in the V8 GTS good enough for my i7 4790k? i will overclock at the future maybe to 4.4ghz

2. Did i need to apply the thermal paste on my V8 GTS? Or should i just apply like a dot at the middle of the cpu and don't need to apply on the heatsink? Or should i apply it on both?

Hope this awesome community is going to help me to solve the issue on my first gaming pc build.

Edit:Will the V8 GTS also able to fit in my case with rear and top fans installed?

What about the thermal paste in the V8 GTS? is it good enough to overclock my i7 4790k in the future to like 4.4 ghz?Do you recommend me to use that thermal paste or buy a new one?

And did i need to apply the thermal paste on the bottom of the heatsink( see some people do that) or should i i just apply it on the cpu only ? which is better ?

I normally use AS, when coolers and the like come with the thermal compound I pass it on to clients, in the event they want to try it or use down the road during a cleanup. I've used CM Thermal compound when testing products and seems to work just fine. 4.4 should be no problem as long as the CPU is up to it. I run 4.8 with the GTS V8 and can and have run higher, with less or lower data rate DRAM

What about the case and memory? Will v8 gts fit in a cm storm trooper? And corsair vengeance pro 2x8GB is it compatible with v8 gts? i see corsair websites and it says vengeance series are 52.5mm tall and cooler master website says the v8 gts is compatible with ram that is 50 mm tall which 52.5mm is over 50 mm.
