So anyway I managed to get it working for a couple weeks after I installed a new psu and manually changed the bios cpu voltage, when resetting the cmos kept it at a high voltage for some reason. The weird thing was that swapping the psu didn't seem to do anything in terms of bios readings and stuff, so I thought that the old one worked after all. A couple days ago I decided to swap back in the old psu because I wanted to use the new one for my up coming build. When I plugged everything back in it didn't even boot up at all. So after that I put the new psu back in again and it seems to boot fine except for one problem, the hard drive isn't showing up in the boot manager at all. The thing is that the optical drive shows up and an external usb hard drive shows up as well.
Things I did:
1. made sure the two cables (data and power) were plugged in well
2. swapped the cables for the optical drive ones
3. swapped ports on the motherboard

Because of this I think that the hard drive is broken and I need it replaced. What is your advice?
