GUYS! I need your help. I have a Corsair H55 and an AMD FX 8350. My computer shuts down automatically whenever I play games. I tried to clean my computer especially the cooler, removed the old thermal compound on my CPU and cooler and applied a new one (just a line in the middle). And when I tried it again the same thing happened it overheats. I tried smelling the air coming out of the radiator it's fine I listened and touched the Cooler tube water is pumping.

I used CPUID HWMonitor to monitor my computer's temps

CPU - Idle - 30°C
On-load - 55-75°C

When I tried playing CSGO my computer shuts down .

I tried cleaning it again removed, cleaned and applied thermal compound and the same thing happened. I tried to access the BIOS and looked at my CPUs temps.

It started on 40°C then after each 5-10 seconds it increases 1°C. When it reaches 60°C it automatically shuts down.

So I tried changing my CPU cooler. I installed my CPU stock cooler. Tried to access the BIOS observed my CPU temps.

It started 40°C then when it reaches 47-49°C it stabilized. When I used CPUID HWMonitor my CPU temps reached 29-35°C.

I wonder what is the problem on my Corsair H55. I cleaned the radiator and removed the old thermal paste but still it overheats. I never tried overclocking and I never tried messing up with the volts in my BIOS.

My Specs:
Processor: AMD FX-8350

CPU Cooler: Corsair H55

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0

Videocard: Sapphire R7-265

Power Supply: Corsair VS650 watts

Could you guys help me? Any comments will much be appreciated

While those temps aren't perfect, they're most definitely under control. I can't imagine why it would be set to auto shutdown at only 60C. Can you check your BIOS and tell me what temperature your PC is set to auto shut off at? However, there is a possibility something is wrong with the H55, have you contacted Corsair about it?

I haven't contacted Corsair yet. I'm still trying to figure out what seems to be the problem with my h55. It reaches 60°C more often. It reached 70-80°C and then suddenly drops to 60°C. I was expecting my temps would be like 25-35°C since I don't overclock.

I don't think so? I've been using my h55 and my PSU for about a year and a half now. And I don't think its my PSU what's causing this overheating

Those poor quality PSU's dont last long and if the current goes up with an increase in fan speed its not impossible it tips the PSU over the edge, I do agree this seems unlikely due to how little current the fans and pump take.

Apart from doing what you have done already and reinstalling the cooler with fresh thermal paste, there is not much else to go wrong. Unless the cooler has a problem with the pump not work efficiently or somehow its got an airlock which should be impossible with an AIO
