Hi there,

So I'm in the process of building a PC with two old parts I still have (which I probably will upgrade in the future) but I'm not sure if it is compatible with the components I selected since they are a bit older.

The old components:
PSU: Corsair VX550W
Video Card: GeForce GTX 680

The new build:
Processor: Intel Core i6 6600K Boxed
Fan: Scythe Mugen 4 PCGH Edition
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport BLS2C4G4D240FSA
HD: Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001, 2TB
Case: NZXT S340

The component from the new build are all compatible which each other.

Would this be compatible? Apart from wattage and connections I cannot find how to tell if it's compatible.

Thanks!

The psu might still be good, but is already pretty old.It doesn't support the low power states of the cpu,c6/c7 in the bios,so these would have to be disabled.I would still look for a better/newer one, keep this one as back up.With those great new components does the pc deserve a good new psu too

Thanks! I decided to go for the Seasonic G-series. I know the wattage is a bit higher then I need but I plan on getting a new GPU in a few months.

You're welcome.:)

That psu is a good choice. The wattage is fine for most single gpu builds with that cpu. You look at newegg, but the name sounds Dutch.Maybe there are choices as good for less (at least via newegg there are),keep that in mind.
