Hello,

As the title says, my sister is experiencing some networking issues with her Lenovo G780 laptop.
Two days ago, I bought and set up a new router (NETGEAR R7000 Nighthawk), which seemed to work fine. Although my sister's laptop can connect to our WiFi network and has a strong signal, her internet speed is close to non-existent. When I try to visit any website (browser is Google Chrome), it either loads very slowly or doesn't load at all. The same goes for other browsers or programs which require internet acces (e.g. Skype) Her connection and internet speed are fine when I use an ethernet cable.
The Lenovo laptop is the only mobile device experiencing this problem in our home network

I've tried everything to solve this issue, but so far nothing seems to work.
So far, I've done the following:
- Reset and replug the router
- Move the router or the laptop to another location
- Doublecheck the WiFi password
- Change the WiFi channel
- Update and reinstall the network adaptor driver (Broadcom driver 802.11n)
- Remove cookies/ internet caches from Google Chrome
- Try a different browser
- Disable Bluetooth driver (per instruction on the official Lenovo forums)
- Disable Ipv6

So far, none of these steps have improved the internet speed. I'm at a loss.
Her laptop had no trouble connecting with our previous router (a Buffalo Airstation WHR-HP-G54) and had a normal internet connection. However, during my tweaking I've noticed that her internet speeds sometimes suddenly became normal (around 30Mbps with the Oogla speedtest), but I do not believe that this is the effect of one of the above steps. I would appreciate any advice on how to solve this issue.
I would be happy to give further information when needed.

Solution
NETGEAR R7000 Nighthawk is 802.11ac and Lenovo G780 is 802.11bgn supported as 802.11bgn works on 2.4ghz and 802.11ac works with 5ghz which is creating a compatibility issue with the laptop you can understand the difference between these technologies in this picture

there are 2 possible solutions you can do are you can buy a 802.11ac usb wireless adapter or you can just change your router's frequency to at least 802.11n which will no doubt reduce the efficiency of your router.
