I can't connect to the internet and can't remember my Network Security Key. Any suggestions?

For some reason, I am unable to connect to the internet and my laptop keeps asking for my Network Security Key, and I can't remember it at all. Any suggestions on how I can recover my security key?

If you don't have it written down anywhere, the only place to get it is from your router configuration page for wireless security. So plug an Ethernet cable into an LAN port of the router and into your computer Ethernet port, then type in the IP address of your router. If you don't know it just open a command prompt and type ipconfig and hit return. Look for the gateway address in the returned information. Open your browser and type that address in. You will need to know the router user ID and password, but they are probably the default and you can find them with a quick look at the manual or Internet search of the router model.
