So I am building a PC for a friend and he is using an NZXT Phantom 530. The PSU is a EVGA NEX 650G. I know the Phantom 530 uses a molex connector for the power of the controller hub. I took an adapter that is molex on one side and the other side is labeled Perif but looks like the SATA connections for the PSU. So I connected it to the molex connector to the hub and put plugged it into the sata area of my PSU. The PC starts up and works fine but the case fans don't work at all.

Did I do something wrong? Any ideas?

Yes, they are. There's 2 connections to the hub in the back which I believe lead to the fans. I haven't really took anything off of the hub besides the spare fan connectors. So they should be plugged in from the start.

The top cable is plugged into the hub. I took off the top of the case and everything looks fine there. I really don't get this.
