Hey guys i just got my check and im trying to spend at least $50 on either an Xbox One windows controller or a better CPU cooler with two extra fans to keep my PC cooler. I'm currently using an Intel i5 4590 with a GTX Gigabyte G1 970 and I'm trying to get a better cooler to reduce the stock cooler noise and heat. I just turn on my PC, my CPU idles around 32-35°C and my GPU is 30°C. I'm looking at the Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 because of its value and good reviews. But when i add it to my cart on either Amazon or Newegg it recommends me to get a Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound. I know that the CM CPU cooler comes with a thermal paste bottle but i want to know is it worth it getting the Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound. I don't know a lot about different types of thermal paste. Thanks.

CPU: Intel i5 4590
CPU cooler: Stock Intel cooler
Motherboard: ASrock H97M Pro4
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB
GPU: GTX Gigabyte G1 970
HDD: WD 1TB Blue
Case: NZXT Phantom 410
PSU: XFX XTR 550w 80 plus Gold
Monitor: ASUS VN247H-P

Tomshardware actually did a review testing all kinds of different thermal pastes:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/thermal-paste-performance-benchmark,3616-18.html

In all honesty, you are looking at a couple of degrees difference between pastes, besides for the top 2 which are exceptions but use a different material(liquid metal) which has the con of frying your PC if even a tiny drop gets on your motherboard.

So it isn't necesary, then again personally I'd rather know what thermal paste goes on my CPU, I did a quick search on google and turned up with nothing on what paste is bundled with that cooler, but honestly, decent thermal paste costs like 5-7$, so I would personally take it, but it's not a "must have" thing

Definitly get that cooler though, vs stock it's great value, and it will cool down your system quite a bit more

I agree with Exeonex .
I use Coolermaster IC Essential E2 Thermal Compound Paste , and have done for over a year .
My build has a very balanced superflow and i have not suffered from any overheating.
Happy to use this brand.
There's no need to confuse the issue at hand with products not matching up to your expectations if when the company perpetuates fake reviews to qualify it's product and certain Thermal Paste manufacturers have been known to do this on Amazon and other known internet sales arenas , it doesn't actually match up to the standard you would expect from a technical product.

You can usually tell the products not going to match up to your expectations if the company perpetuates fake reviews to qualify it's product and certain Thermal Paste manufacturers have been known to do this on Amazon and other known internet sales arenas.
