Hey guys, wondering if anybody could offer me a little advice on a PC issue.
All of the sudden, and I've done a lot of my own research into this problem before reaching out anywhere like this for my own help but obviously still no luck, I cannot get through a Full Scan. It's giving me the orange ! and telling me I haven't scanned in a while, so I'm trying to take care of it, and it will only go to 90% or so. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that acts funny as well. It uninstalled yet still remained on my PC functional, but yet wasn't anywhere to be found on the PC or remove programs list. Finally, restarted the computer, still had MSE on there but still wasn't in my programs list, so I end tasked it and then it told me I didn't have any Virus Protection on the PC.

....So I re-download MSE, install, it tells me there was an error installing. Try it install again, it installs successfully. It updates, does a quick scan, I'm back to a nice Green and Protected status, so I think I'm good. Out of curiosity I run a Full Scan, and have the same issue all over again.

Any idea????? Thanks for reading.

edit- Also, when it's at the 90% state and I try and cancel or close it, it goes "Not responding" til I have to End Task it. At that point, I can no longer reopen it. Although it can be found again seemingly operating again in my Task Manager.

Okay, well, either way....is it possible theres still an issue with the PC itself here for acting this way when it concerns an anti virus program in general? Like, MSE, after using for the last few years doesnt all the sudden feel like giving me a virus-like issue out of nowhere I dont think, despite anybodies opinion on it's overall security, does it?

edit- After all, the PC does still act normal and good, its just MSE messing around.....

The best way to see if a MSE problem or the OS it to remove MSE and try another AV.

Sounds like you may have an infection. Can you use another system to download the install files and put them on a usb key? If so do that and restart the system to safe mode with networking and install the new AV.
