Has my DVD drive failed?

It doesn't show up in device manager and when I press to eject the tray it doesn't open.

I have been inside the case and unplugged the sata (both ends) and power cable to the drive.

Last few times it happened this was the fix.

Pretty sure this is just the failed drive but would like confirmation please.

Well switching the ends of the SATA cable and using a different SATA port on the board temporarily fixed it during the boot sequence but then it went off again when I got back into windows. Got to assume it's the drive?

Have you tried uninstall and reinstalling the driver?

Otherwise, it is probably the drive
