Hello, I'm new here in tom's Hardware community!

I just bought an Asus H81M-C for building a gaming pc, but I have recently heard that H81 chipset does not handle too well processors like Intel core i7. On the other hand I talk to a guy in a shop and he told me that the Gigabyte B85M-D3H was a better option for building a decent pc.

I'm planning to buy this pc:

Motherboard:H81M-c/B85M-D3H
Processor: Intel Core i7 4790
RAM: x1 Vengance Corsair 8gb @ 1600 mhz
Video card: MSI Radeon R9 390
PSU: Evga 600W

Well basically this would be my pc, what I wonder is if buying the H81M-C would have a lesser performance against B85M-D3H. Is it worth to buy the B85M-D3H?

Thanks for your help guys! :bounce:

Both motherboards are at least decent quality, with the D3H being a full tier above the H81M-C in quality and features. Either will work fine, the D3H is just a slightly better model and chipset. You'd be fine either way you went.

I read those links but I still have doubt if it's worth buying the B85M-D3H, or if the H81M-C will slow the computer because of its chipset.

Thank you!:)
