Hello Everyone,

I have a Dell Optiplex 745 Desktop PC with the following Configuration

Intel Pentium Dual Core 2160 @1.86 GHz,
4GB DDR2 SD Ram,
500 GB HDD,
NVIDIA GeForce 210 1GB DDR3 PCI-E x16 Graphics Card,
LG DVD Writer Super Multi,
HCL 17" Generic PnP Monitor 1280x1024 Resolution (Only VGA)

I want to Upgrade the GPU with which I can play all games like Far Cry 3, COD MW3, GTA4, Borderlands 2 etc in my PC with higher resolutions without lagging.
The existing GPU is the new one and I didn't find any of the games working even good. The worst GPU I have heard about.

So, I will be thank full for the suggestions I get to upgrade it to the card for HD gaming.

Solution
Well, you have copper, I remembered well. Q6600 is stronger, since all 4 cores will do the job, today games already utilizing all 4 cores, Far Cry 4 is the most demanding game from your list, followed by BF4, which is CPU intensive as well.

Just compare those videos

Far cry 4 on Hd 5670 Pentium Dual core e6600

Far Cry 4 Q6600+GTS 450 This card is about the same as HD 7750 DDR3

FAR CRY 4 ON HD 7750 on Athlon x3 455, which is stronger than e6600, play on Medium settings

My point is - with e6600 you can not even dream about Medium setting good FPS (frame per second) game, Q6600 is about twice stronger, Medium settings playable somewhat.

I noticed that you decide and purchase something, then you get upset - you...

Not in my budget to upgrade a processor that costs nearly Rs.10,000, I am putting a budget for a graphics card only.
After my research on toms hardware and by googling I came to see that graphics card Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR5 128-bit low profile will definitely is compatible with my psu and come into my computer.Amazon Reviews show that it is running safe with 220 watt PSU, mine is 280 watt. Is it going to run with my processor. Your views on this are precious for me. Thank you.

Yes it will, and it will fit nicely. What is your budget in rupees? I remember that you said in other post that you have copper heatsink, is it correct? If yes, you can upgrade processor up to Q6600 for about 2,200 rupees http://www.ebay.in/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R1.TR8.TRC0.A0.H0.Xq6600.TRS0&_nkw=q6600&_sacat=0

After this, GT740 for 7,250.00 rupees and you will have a nice machine

So, main question, what is your budget in rupees, and what heatsink you have? Faster CPU from Core 2 Duo for you is E6700, which is cheap, under 1000 rupees and do not require new heatsink.

OK yeah, I have ordered the E6600 2.4Ghz 4MB L2 Cache 1066FSB processor on ebay for 650/- and I hope it will definitely run on my system. Why did you give more preference to the Q6600 processor. What is the difference between the two Q6600 and E6600 other than the Quad-Core and Dual-Core propeties. I have copper heat sink...the two copper pipes going through the heat sink.

My budget will be less than rs.5000 to buy the graphics card. Already I have spent rs.2200 from my first salary to buy the existing card. But this card is not worth, not overclockable, no minimum performance, a worst card from Nvidia. Even MW2 is unable to play(lgging) in low settings.

Can I play the games like Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 4, Medal of honour, Farcry 4 games on my PC with medium settings when I install Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR5 card, and the upgraded processor?

Your views on this are precious for me. Thank you.

I noticed that you decide and purchase something, then you get upset - you wasted money on GT 210, now you are wasting on E6600, no more comments.
Q6600 is not strong enough for HD 7750, which will bottleneck e6600 for sure, resulting in frame drop, jittery/shaking effects, some shadows etc.
For 10,000 rupees you could get Q6600 + GT 740, not bad combination, but still very low by today standards.

In your situation, you have to squeeze as much as possible from your system to get to the Medium settings in today games, if you save money, the best you could hope for is Low settings with low resolutions, there is no magic here.

Thank you brother... I see the playback and feeling happy looking at how those graphics are working.

Thanks for your valuable information on my system upgrade. The purpose of choosing e6600 (A refurbished chip costs Rs. 450 on ebay.in) is to start the level 1 of upgrading my computer. I cannot directly go to the higher levels at a time. Even a single drop of water makes an ocean.
Taking your point into consideration my next upgrades will be the Q6600 processor and the Graphics card you mentioned Geforce GT-740.

My Questionnaire:

Do GT-740 play the games on medium settings with good fps? I can see the the HD 5670 and GT 450 is not lagging. I need the graphics as like in the video for HD 5670.

Is GT-740 a HD or is it just a normal gaming GPU. What about its Backward Compatibility to PCI-E 1.1 and PSU compatibility (Mine is 280Watt).

Yes Games Like FarCry 3,Assasins Creed 3,4,RE6 Can Be Played At High At 720p(1280x720 Or 1366x768) And If Higher Resolution Like (1920x1080 Or 1600x900) You Can Get Medium Settings....And If You've 720p Resolution You Can Run Far Cry 4 Too At Low Settings

This is with much stronger CPU, your e6600 is somewhere at the foot of i3 3220 elephant:

Benchmarks

Intel Pentium E6600 @ 3.06GHz - 1897

Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz - 2990

Intel Core i3-3220 @ 3.30GHz - 4209 and by today standards, it is a very weak processor. My 2009 Dell Inspiron 570 is stronger.

If i3-3220 can play FC4 at medium, you will be lucky to play on the same resolution at very low settings. Q6600 will be faster at low resolutions, maybe medium would play more or less OK.

Power supply is nothing to worry about.

Hello All,
I have decided to get a better GPU that is GeForce GTX 750 Ti 1GB or 2GB (Which is better?). Its a low profile, Doesnt require additional power source, and its a single slot. Will this definitely go into my SYSTEM, or Will I have to move to the other GPU that can play best games....Far Cry 3, COD MW3, GTA4, Borderlands 2 etc. Please can you make a list of GPU that are suitable for my Dell Optiplex 745 DT with 6 Gigs of RAM, 2.4 ghz E6600, 280 Watt PSU.
Budget below rs. 8000 for GPU only. I will buy Q6600 for later.
Thank you.
