Hi. So I installed this game (GTA V), and first, many .dll files are missing, so I went to some forums and downloaded the .dll files other users used to fix theirs. So now, this f*ck*ng error shows up everytime and its extremely annoying as I cannot find any similar problems (with GTA 5) on the net:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GTA5.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point MFCreateSourceResolver could not be located in the dynamic library
D:\Program Files\Grand Theft Auto V\MFReadWrite.dll
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OS is Windows 10 Pro N, but I have already installed a package from Microsoft for the Media Foundation for N and KN versions of the OS. Anyone help? Thanks.

I've bought it from a store in a nearby mall. Before I install from those discs, I've made a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro N first. Then, installed the drivers, etc. Then finally the games. Both AC Unity and GTA V won't work.

So it's full retail disc with all game files on disc, vs Steam then?

If the install appears to have completed OK, make sure the redist files like DirectX and MS Visual Studio were installed.

Other than that try disabling any background progs one at a time that may be conflicting, esp security software, which can sometimes conflict with a game's own security measures.

For instance I've had some games conflict with COMODO firewall before.

It is working now, I've downloaded the .dll file in the dialog from somewhere on the net three times. The first 2 did not work maybe because it is 32 bit. I've discovered that I have to use the 64-bit version (i don't really know what's the difference).

It's a bit odd though, I had to replace the file that originally came from their disc set.

The problem now is that GTA V crashes and my computer keeps on saying that the computer is running low on memory whenever I enter the road on one of the early missions. It wasn't even hitting 5GB of memory and I have 8GB of it. Very annoying. I have a fairly good pc, an i7-4790, GTX 970, 8GB of RAM and I have no idea why this is happening.

Hmm, so a mixed blessing getting it going sort of?

You have way better spec than mine (i7 950, 7970, 8GB RAM), and I've never once had an out of memory error in GTA V.

Is it the game yielding the mem error, or your computer, and are you sure it's referring to sys RAM vs VRAM?

Reason I ask is you have a 970, which are known to VRAM cap at 3.5GB. Typically they don't at 1080p in most games, but if you're playing at higher res than that, it could.

Run the in game bench and see i f you're sustaining 60 FPS for the most part. Also, if you verify it is sys RAM, monitor the RAM usage with Task Manager at intervals to see if it keeps rising.

If so. you're experiencing a memory leak. I've not had mem leak issues with GTA V and as far s I know, there isn't evidence of one being present with most. I suppose it's possible if one of the files you DLed is corrupt though, it might cause one.

The recognition of such files being present may allow it to run, but that doesn't necessarily mean those files are in good condition. A DLL DLed from a random site could even have tag along spyware causing mem leak symptoms.

You have to be VERY careful where you source such files.
