Hi, I just got a new pc and randomly, the monitor turns black and the asus logo comes onscreen then the display goes black again. I don't know what's wrong with it, and it's happened about 6 times today. Not sure if it's the monitor (S24D590) or the motherboard. I can turn it back on, but it shuts down after about 30-40 mins, if I'm in a game. Yesterday and the day beforehand it was perfectly fine. if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it. I ended up getting the PC built for me by a company so it's not built by me.
I have:
Asus Z170M-PLUS motherboard
Intel Core i7-6700K
8gb x 2 of RAM (kingston hyperX)
Gigabyte GTX 980 ti
Corsair CX600 power supply
Corsair h100i CPU cooler
Corsair Obsidian 350D case
Edit: Just tried to turn it on again and it started up, but the fans were very loud and nothing came up on the monitor.

Solution
Your PSU is very low quality. I suspect this is the problem but even if its not you need to change it for something of decent quality. You have a nice high end system and the most important part which feeds the whole thing is low quality.

Could the lack of power have damaged any of the parts inside the pc?
Thanks for your help

When a PSU fails especially lower quality units there is a real chance of damaging other components, it doesn't always happen but is a real risk. Random reboots will cause problems with you Windows installation over time and can shorten the life of your HDD.
