I will use a 1440p monitor and I will sli in the future. I overclock a lot and i'm not custom watercooling my pc. The mobo must be future proof and I also use photoshop, after effects, blender, and Sony vegas 13. So which mobo should I use?

P.S. I will be using windows 10.

get X99 chipset and 6 cores CPU. at least Intel Core i7-5820K, 6x 3.30GHz

X99 is the way to go .

Benefits of X99 :

1- more than 4 cores upto 8 with OC !!! and 18 cores using Xeons .
2- Quad channel DDR4 VS dual channel
3- TRUE 40 or 28 lanes CPU VS ONLY 16 lanes CPU .
4- ECC Registered RAM if using Xeons of the same chips.

and there is no Quad channel 4 way in Z170.

^ im sorry but what is upto 8 with oc??

The programs you wish to use scale well with multipe cores you will see a difference i7 5820 vs i5 6600k
But that does not neseciary justify the cost you will be able to do what you want with the i5 but a bit slower
It depends on what and how much are you willing to spend and what you are able to live with

this

http://ark.intel.com/products/82930/Intel-Core-i7-5960X-Processor-Extreme-Edition-20M-Cache-up-to-3_50-GHz

8 cores unlocked.

and you are mistaken , more cores are very much price justified .. have you waited DAYS rendering ? I did!!!
