Just got my MSI z170a gaming Mobo and my i5-6600k cpu hooked up with G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM 2400 (PC4-19200) Memory KitModel F4-2400C15D-16GRR. Booting up for the first time, I get access to the bios where it recognizes the ram but when I attempt to boot into the OS already installed on an older Samsung evo 840 SSD I get a blue screen error of Memory_mangement or page fault in nonpaged area. After some looking around both errors are typically involved in Ram issues. I have done the basic trouble shooting of taking the ram out and trying different ports with different sticks to test for faulty ram or slots and same error occurs in any config. I can't get into the OS to update drivers, just reboots after this error. Any suggestions or ideas on what is happening? Is it an issue of nonsupported ram? Thanks guys

I can not boot in safe, recently tried taking out my SSD with the OS on it, and putting in a blank 500g HDD and attempted to boot from the windows install USB, got the same error messages :(

Two things:

It sounds like you haven't loaded the chipset drivers onto the old drive before the switch? If it uses a different type it probably won't boot. PCmag just did an article on not having to do a fresh install if you go Intel to Intel, and load the drivers on first before the switch.

If you have installed the drivers first, have you used a USB to load the new Bios in UEFI yet? The 1.5 and 1.6v Bios have way better memory management and compatibility. I had this problem until the update and then no issues whatsoever. Rock solid now.
