Using 2 Sticks of RAM causes PC to Crash

Hey all, I recently built a PC but I'm having an issue, when I use both of the 4gb memory sticks the system turns on but doesn't display the mobo splash screen, then it shuts down again in an infinite loop. When I put only one stick, it boots just fine. I tested and both ram sticks work alone but not together in any position. I tried turning on XMP but that also didn't work. Thanks for any help.

Did they come in one package?

Tried a different set? maybe from a friend or ...

Yes they came in the same package. I have tried enabling XMP with 1 stick because that is the only way I can access bios at all

Tried a different set? If possible that is ... A different set will determine if the problem is with the ram or the motherboard.

Maybe you can add some Voltage to the ram in the bios,can go up to 1.65V.See if that has any effect.

maybe the second slot is damaged .. try one stick only in all available dimms ... and see in bios if it is detected and working.

That's the voltage suggestion i assume. Tried a different set?

Sadly I don't have another set on me, I do doubt that it would be the ram though.

try the two sticks in single channel mode , that is not paired . and see if they work together.,

The PC is for my friend so I'm at his house right now, I would be able to get some from my PC but that would be later

Well hell, putting them in wrong made it right. Thanks for all your help, my mind is blown. I put them the way the mobo Manuel said exactly not to.

one of the dimms SLOTs is broken for sure ...

if you put them wrong this means they are running in single channel mode.
