Hey all, I recently built a PC but I'm having an issue, when I use both of the 4gb memory sticks the system turns on but doesn't display the mobo splash screen, then it shuts down again in an infinite loop. When I put only one stick, it boots just fine. I tested and both ram sticks work alone but not together in any position. I tried turning on XMP but that also didn't work. Thanks for any help.

Mobo
GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-Gaming
RAM
G.skill sniper series 4gb x 2

Solution

reset the bios to default setting and try ...

also ,

try the two sticks in single channel mode , that is not paired . and see if they work together.,

I read that the second time. ;)

Tried a different set? If possible that is ... A different set will determine if the problem is with the ram or the motherboard.

Maybe you can add some Voltage to the ram in the bios, can go up to 1.65V.See if that has any effect.

maybe the second slot is damaged .. try one stick only in all available dimms ... and see in bios if it is detected and working.

one of the dimms SLOTs is broken for sure ...

if you put them wrong this means they are running in single channel mode.
