Hi, I'm thinking about upgrading my gpu without changing my psu.
I have corsair cx500m I bought in december 2014, it has 2 x 6+2-Pin.
so what's the most powerful GPU my system can handle?
I was using 7870 since 2013, but it died couple days ago.

spec:
i5 3470
Msi b85
2x8gigs ram
corsair cx500m
1x ssd, 2x 7200rpm HDD.
4 total fan

Don't ask me about the budget, just name the graphic card. My only limitation is the 500W PSU. for those who curious, there's a weird electronic device limitation rule in my building.

pardon my engrish.

@CTurbo well, technically, my 7870 isn't dead, it has some artefacts / glitch / whatever the name is. I took it to a local computer shop and they said it wasn't because of my PSU. They said it simply because manufacturing defects. My psu still fine as and no other parts were harmed. In fact, they bought my 7870 for 15 bucks.

@EAJuggalo Okay, so now 2 vote for 960.

@rcald2000 are you sure?

btw which one perform better, 960 or 7870?
would it be considered upgrading, or staying at a same performance level?

Honestly it's worth going to the 960 over the 7870 just for the power savings. The 960 is 120w and the 7870 is 175w. The 960 is a better performing card then athe 7870 but it seems not by all that much.

@CTurbo: whatever can happen will happen, mate. :D
so, have any recommendation for a good 500w PSU?
I think it's unecessary to go above 80+bronze for 500w range, right?
that's why I bought this CX.

@EAJuggalo thanks. I'll look it up.
