the transistor on my fan controller is hot enough to burn my finger within 1 or 2 seconds of touching it , so i did some research and i found that they can run normally at up to 134c which is 275 f not sure how reliable that information is

i was thinking about putting a tiny heatsink or something on it but i only have like 3cm of clearance anyone know some small GPU ram heatsinks that could work maybe?

i dont smell anything burning but the temperatures are a little disturbing

its so hot because theirs alot of fans connected to it and i am not willing to take some of the fans off of it , that is simply not a viable option. The transistor is the only piece thats hot

SOLUTION = I jammed 7 pennies inbetween the chip and my case which redirects the heat into the case

you can not ground the transistor or you will short it and burn something(s) out. either get some air flowing onto it with a spot fan or live with it.
the only heat sinks that would work that i know of are metal and that capacitor shell is metal and covered by a thin plastic non conductive electrical guard and quit touching it if there's power to it you risk getting shocked. it's not the voltage that will kill you, it's the amps driving the herd of electrons making up the voltage. amps are the horse power.

or buy a different fan controller

its a 5 volt fan controller it cant even go through my skin nor does it have enough amps to do anything if it somehow did via a cut or scrape
and its part of my case so getting a new 5.25 inch fan controller is a last resort
