Hello everyone,
I am very new to the PC building world and I am looking to build a PC perfect for streaming and video editing. I will NOT be playing and games on this computer but I will be streaming my xbox games. I am not totally sure about what parts I need more than others or what parts are necessary. I have compiled this list of parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZQ9mTW
I want to stick with the i7 processor but besides that are there any other parts that I can switch out for cheaper parts that will do just as good of a job or are there any parts I should upgrade? I appreciate the help in advance.

if you're not gaming, then you can do without the extra gpu. so i dropped that, changed the mobo to a full size one that will let you oc the i7 and faster ram to help those editing tasks. plus i changed that psu to one that is not junk. way more power than needed but if you ever decide to put a gpu into it, this one will run most any decent card. took the savings from dropping that gpu and added a nice ssd to boost the os and program speeds a bit as well

Thank you so much I will definitely use this list over the other one. Now i have another question. I have heard of AMD cpu's (sorry if thats not the correct term) and that they are cheaper. Would I be able to use of of these instead of and i7 or are they not as good?

i thought rendering was cpu dependent or has it switched over to use gpu power now? if it needs a gpu, then an fx paired with a nice gpu will probably be a worthy change to the system.

sorry colin but i did not know rendering software has moved to the gpu from the cpu....

No problem. I will be running sony vegas along with open broadcasting software. I have tried to stream on my current computer with a 2.5 ghz i5 processor and my cpu jumps to around 80% usage. Streaming will be more important to me than the editing so what would you suggest knwing this information?

I can't speak to Open Broadcasting --- never used it. As long as it exports in the Sony "MP4/AAC" format/bit-rates you should be good-to-go. I'm also a little confused as to how you plan to stream your XBox via your PC. If you plan on using your WiFi I suspect more so than anything that (or the Open Broadcasting software itself) would be your biggest hindrance.

Sony Vegas is big on GPU compute for editing and rendering. Performance increases are measured in multiples -- like 3- to 4X faster -- than 'software rendering' on CPU cores alone.

From Anandtech

The R7 250 scores a *50* in Vegas GPU compute -- so something like the R9 270 would likely be twice as fast as the R7 240.

Which i5 at 2.5GHz are you using? Is it something like the i5-750 on s1156?

The reason I ask --- I don't think 'more cores' on an i7 is the answer to what might be ailing you. Something like an i5-4460 or an AMD FX-6350 should be more than sufficient for your streaming.
