my ITX build uses an i3-4130 with the factory cooler. it works, but meh. i always like to improve things. or i feel like doing a wee bit of shopping. but it's ITX and the mobo is GA-H87N-WIFI so i have very little space to work with. i have the height, but not the width or depth.

i did some quick measurements and a 120mm-based heatsink like a 212Evo or whatever else will NOT fit. i only have 106mm or less side-to-side i have a bit more to overhang the ram sticks, but that's about it.

what do you recommend? i'm shopping in canada, so ncix.com is my first stop, followed by canadacomputers.com and lastly newegg.ca

120mm doesn't give a ton to work with. Have you considered a AIO cooler? Even though there kinda pricey I think the H80i is around $90 from Canada Computers. I think Be Quiet has a nice SFF air cooler if you want me to link that. But I don't think Canada computers carries it nor does NCIX

i've got a Corsair H55 that is my plan-B (or plan-C). even though i won't see it, i get giddy knowing that there's a nice looking cooler inside the case. none of my cases currently have a side or top window, but i like using big nice-looking coolers like my Scythe Orochi, Lucifer V2, etc. i'm eyeing a Raijintek Tisis, and that's kind of the price point i want to stay under ($50) for this i3 based machine, though that Tisis if i do buy it will go to a Kaveri home-theatre build in a different case.

i wouldn't be able to use anything that has the fan flat / horizontal like that Noctua, but the Noct is nice and they have a 92mm version that's nice but a bit rich for my liking. something like the AC Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 would fit but it's just not "pretty" enough.

that's actually quite interesting, and cheap! i stumbled across this Raijintek Aidos at NCIX, but it's not in stock. reviews say it's great so maybe i'll make that a christmas present to myself?
